The
IFC (International
Film Center)
is a small theater located in the west village. I was there to see "Crude – The Real
Price of Oil" a film by Joe Berlinger. That afternoon, the IFC was having two of
the film contributors as guests for a Q & A after the film. Before the film
started they had a slide show of previous guests they’ve had at the theater,
which I thought was kinda interesting. After that they displayed a very cool
short film, on an artist’s work from beginning to end of each illustration in
fast motion video. The works were remakes of (I guess) previous indie film
posters, on what seemed to be a dry earase board with dry erase markers. Then
after that the craziest thing happened…the film started. Holy
#$%^!?"%$#@&*!!! There were no boring movie trailers, no corporate
crap advertising. It was awesome. It was like traveling on a Cuban
highway...what does that mean? Well, I guess you gotta go find out huh :b
